The People In Need Trust would like to wish all our supporters and beneficiaries a very happy new year.

At the moment there are no plans for a Telethon in 2010 so there will be no grant application round this year.

We hope to be back with some fundraising initiatives and subsequent funding in the not too distant future so please check this website for updates.

People in Need Trust recently allocated over €6million raised during the October 2007 RTE People in Need Telethon supported by eircom. Thanks to the generosity of the Irish public, over 500 charities around the country have benefited from grants for everything from mini-busses to medical equipment and renovations to counselling resources. As always, money raised in each county has gone back into that county.

There are six broad categories within which grants are allocated; children and youth, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and the homeless, with the multipurpose section covering family resource centers, while the ‘other’ section covers a range of services such as rape crisis centers and hospices.
